When I think of my dad, I smile.

I smile not because he throw jokes and funny things at me when I was a child but because I know that he is the only man in this world that won't turn his back on me no matter what happens.

People look down on my father because he is not a college graduate, but it never let him turn his head down. Instead, he used it as a foundation to be strong. He reminds me that no matter what other people say to our family, all I have to do is smile and focus on my dreams because I got him on my back.

Though my father does not wear a coat and tie on his work, he still has the passion for learning. When someone corrected his wrong doings, he listens carefully and accepts every critic wholeheartedly.

Though he has no stable job, I’m proud to be his daughter.

I’m proud to be a daughter of someone who is indestructible and someone who thinks of his family's sake before his own.

I come from a family that puts so much hope in education, that's why my father grabs every work opportunity to let me and my siblings be able to go to school. 

As a student, my father is my inspiration to pursue my study. Because of him, I am now a fourth-year college student and I will be forever grateful to be born, because of him.

The children who are good to their parents are the most blessesed.

 

Being a good son or daughter is not just listening to your parents but also being nice to them to make them happy and not making them worry.

To make them feel comfortable, you have to take care of yourself. It is the way to express our gratitude and repay our parents kindness.

Our Mothers suffered a great deal of pain in giving birth to us, every time we celebrate our birthdays, it is our mother’s celebration as well.

Attitude and Education

I come from a family with a minimum waged income, sometimes it is not minimum and turn to a smaller amount.

I used to study in a place with a candle-light on my table.

I once envy the kids like me that has different kind of bags every other day.

I used to envy their erasers that has different kind of designs.

I used to envy how they go to school with a school service to ride on, while I am required to sweat and walk early just to go on school on time.  

I used to envy their food during break time.

And I used to dream their lifestyle.

 But as I grow older, I realize how nonsense is my thinking back then. 

Due to the family’s financial problem I had experience, I learned to keep myself on the ground because I know what it feels like to be left alone.

I learned to manage my allowance so I can used it in tight times.

I learned to write what my heart wants to express because I want to be heard by other people that see education as the only position to brag.

Education is not just a privilege given to someone, it is also the way to enhance our skills and knowledge.

I want to finish my study not just for my own benefit, but because I want to help my parents. Education is the way to earn money and live diligently but I know there is something more we have to remember. They say “Education is the key to success”, but I want to add something more in this famous quote. “A good attitude and education are the two paramount things we have to keep”. 

Education is not enough to achieve real happiness in world, we also have to adjust ourselves and have a good attitude towards any person and to any level of positions. We have to respect everyone in the same manner regardless of their status in life. We have to choose the right path because through this, our life will not just be a record on this place but will also became an inspiration to the younger generations. 

"Embracing the day as another Lesson to be Learned"

As we strive to become the person we want to be, we often forgot the real us. 

Living this kind of place is like a race, sometimes we often use our mask to hide our real identity, which makes us sad. We used to make things which are opposite to our desire just to be accepted in this colloquial world. 

We became greedy any things in this world. We dream to become a superstar someday. We all wish to be someone who will have a special treatment from others. But does it really matter? I don't think so. 

I believe that we are all unique. Someone may be better than you in a specific matter, but I know that there's is something in your heart that is not same as the others. 

We have to accept ourselves. We have to appreciate our lives. We have to live our lives to the fullest. We may sometimes face various challenges that may let us down, but it is our heart that has to look for the positive side. 

Let me share this with you. 

Last Friday, I had a bible study with my aunts. The topic is all about the "Challenges before Success", according to the scripture reader, "God doesn't look at what you have achieved or how big your success is. God looks on the process of our success because, for him, the lessons we learned in the process is the success itself". 

Waking up in the morning is a present given to us. Each day is a day to embrace with a smile. New lessons are always on the track that needs to be learned by us.

God doesn't give us challenges that he knows we can't handle. He gives us challenges so we may improve our weaknesses. He makes us stronger so we can fight for ourselves.

We have to appreciate all the things that happen in our lives.  Though it is bad or good, we have to accept it wholeheartedly because that is the ultimate reason we became stronger.
